Here is part 5 of 5 of my review of the stock planes, although saying "part 5" couldn't be more inaccurate. Now, you'd THINK 37 cars and airplanes might be enough but apparently it isn't, not that I'm complaining. Guess I'll have to do this whole thing over again in march... or whenever... Anyway!
First By Dots, we have the Apache longbow inspired Racoon. a well armed attack helicopter.
Dimensions:
rotorspan: 48.1 ft
Length: 58.0 ft
Height: 16.9 ft
Weight: 11,000 lb
Engine:
1x "BigRotor" 1323 lb Turboshaft putting out 2500 hp.
Weapons:
1x gun headset controlled gun
2x 7 count rocket pods
8x Ferno-LAS 273lb laser guided missiles
Trivia
-In FPV view, when flying from the gunner position, the mouse controls the gun.
Second, From Crazyplanes, We have the Simpleze. Based on the Rutan Long-EZ, The Simpleze, although visually iconic, handles about how you'd expect a Canard-pusher low powered lightweight aircraft to handle. But i can tell after some hot-rodding it will become a racing monster. It has a decent climb performance of ten degrees at 100 mph but needs more trim the higher you go. At an optimal altitude of 8000 ft and a top speed of 146mph but can go higher however speed drops off as engine performance decreases.
Dimensions:
Wingspan: 40 ft
Length: 22.8ft
Height: 8.3ft
Weight: 1804lb to 2244lb
Engine:
1x 370 lb Flat 4 engine putting 258 horsepower and 1127 ft lb of torque to a rear prop at 1504 rpm
Trivia:
-this plane is a 142% scale replica.
Third, by BaconEggs We have a mashup of EVERY SST that did or didn't make it off the drawing board. The Snoot is a presumably supersonic airliner That combines the TU-144 with Boeing Overture To bring you a unique design that still looks sleek. Performance wise I'll be honest, the box just isn't big enough to fully test it out so i have no idea how fast it goes. However, Like the other jets using the new jet engine, performance drops off above 20000 ft.
Dimensions:
Wingspan: 108.9ft
Length: 198.7 ft
Height: 22.1 ft
Weight: 171,037lbs to 272,903lbs
Engines:
4x 5542lb quarter-bypass afterburning turbofans putting out 228kN of thrust each
Avionics:
1 visibility optimization "droop snoot" nose system
Fourth, We have the Stormvark by ShizzleStyx. A fictional Navy variant of the F-111 Aardvark, the first production variable-geometry wing aircraft. Remember the Hellkeska? based on the SU-24? Yeah this thing is that on steroids... and any other drug you can think of. With 10 external hardpoints alone, not counting the internal weapons bay. Plenty of firepower Although strangely set up for more air combat than ground combat... At altitude you get a topout of 1373 mph.
A beautiful paint scheme completes the package.
Dimensions:
Wingspan extended: 50.3 ft
Length: 68.5 ft
Height: 16.7 ft
Weight 32960 lb to 59891 lb
Engines:
2x "Sentinal Ecliptic F111-SE-100" 7907 lb low bypass turbofans putting out 252 kn thrust each.
Weapons:
2x 30mm cannon pods
2x viper 186 lb infrared air to air missiles
4x Lazy 50 500lb laser guided bombs
5x Anzu 584 lb Active Radar guided air to air missiles
Trivia:
-The F-111 was original designed for the Navy, but lost out to the A5 Vigilante.
The Navy reconsidered, and the F-111B was developed, but lost out to the F-14.
-The F-111 participated in a life flight in 1986 from Oklahoma to Connecticut. Making it the world's fastest Ambulance.
-This is a 88% scale replica.
-The Stormvark and Superwasp were designed and intended to work together, much like the F-111 and F-15 do in real life. However, there roles are reversed as the Superwasp is the more ESM and ECM geared aircraft and the Stormvark carries all the "cool" weapons.
Fifth, From MisterT, We have The only Rose Buffalo suitable airplane, The Stinker, Based on the Pitts S1 series. and I say it's suitable for air racing because it sure isn't an acrobat. It feels way too heavy and does NOT have the agility of an unlimited aerobat, but has a top speed of 236 at 10000ft and isn't much slower on the deck making it a good racer.
Dimensions:
Wingspan: 21.8 ft
Length: 18.4 ft
Height: 7.3 ft
Weight: Around 1600 lb
Engines:
1x 620lb Flat 6 putting 433 hp and 1454 ft-lb of torque to a front mounted 2 blade prop at 1953 rpm
Trivia:
-this plane is a 125% scale replica
-The name is inspired by Little Stinker, N22E which can be found at the Smithsonian and is one of the earliest examples of the s1.
Sixth, we have the Super Wasp by ShizzleStyx . Set up for Ariel Wild Weasel work, the super wasp is based on the FA-18E and E-18G. It has get up and is nimble under full power, but like the Adder tends to lose energy in the turns and once the burner comes off it loses it's turn rate. At altitude it has a top speed well north of 1100 mph
Dimensions:
Wingspan: 42.6 ft
Length: 57.8 ft
Height: 15.6 ft
Weight: 28167 lb to 46198 lb
Engines:
2x Sentinal Ecliptic F118-SE-400 5751 lb low bypass turbofans putting out 120kn of thrust.
Weapons:
1x gun
1x Auxilary fuel tank
4x Starfall-ARD 815 lb Anti Radiation air to ground Missiles
6x Viper-IR 186 lb infrared air to air missiles
Trivia
-The Superwasp is a 96% scale replica
-The Stormvark and Superwasp were designed and intended to work together, much like the F-111 and F-15 do in real life. However, there roles are reversed as the Superwasp is the more ESM and ECM geared aircraft and the Stormvark carries all the "cool" weapons.
Side Note the Legacy Wasp makes an appearance in the form of the new and improved AI Enemy jet. Being the only stock craft, albeit hidden, to utilize the BFE150, It is a formidable opponent at any altitude.
Seventh, again from BaconEggs is another airliner. This time it's a regional airliner with three engines, The Trisaraus, based on the Boeing 727. Again, sadly, the box isn't big enough.
Dimensions:
Wingspan: 109.5 ft
Length: 152.1 ft
Height: 33.3 ft
Weight: 101,115lbs to 155,449 lbs
Engines:
3x 1314 lb 3/4 bypass non-afterburning turbofans putting out 97.3 kN thrust.
Last but DEFINATLY not least, and strangely my favorite we have the Whistler by Mod. based on the F4U corsair albeit with some minor design changes That honestly make it more Muscle car like which is what i think of when thinking about the corsair, it has acceleration and climb rate going for it. It's performance doesn't bleed off at high altitude like other aircraft, either making it a tough opponent even for korean war era jets up there, especially with its top speed of 425mph at altitude. it can climb comfortably at 50 degrees nose up.
Dimensions:
Wingspan: 35.1ft
Length: 33.2ft
Height: 13.6ft
Weight: 11048 lb to 13229 lb
Engine:
1x "Overtuned R2800 Occluded" 2395 lb 18 cylinder radial putting 1811 hp and 8916 ft-lb of torque to the prop at 1333 rpm.
Weapons:
2x boom 25 250 lb bombs
4x guns
8x HVAR 107 lb rockets.
Trivia
-The Corsair was flown by my Home Town Hero, a native American by the name of Gregory "Pappy" Boyington.
-It was made famous by the tv series Baa-Baa black sheep, a series about Boyington.
-this is a 91% scale replica.
-The Corsair saw extensive service throughout it's lifetime, and made an excellent air racer.
-the whistlers oil cooler inlits protrude from the front of the wings, giving it an appearance set aside from the corsair.
