remember on the first demo when people used to chronically hate nukes?
apparently they started hating on missiles now. i have no idea why
and yes people still hate nukes but not as bad
i literally can't even use missiles in PVP multiplayer without getting instantly kicked
i might as well host a server called "no rules"
@Graingy true
@Mrcooldude Or presumably any key to bind.
@Graingy it works if you have a keybourd with a number pad
@Mrcooldude Really? I’ll have to give that a shot later. Thanks for telling me.
@Graingy instead of starting on the ground hit the + to teleport up to as high as you want
@Mrcooldude ?
@Graingy do you ever hit the keypad + to tp up?
Maybe people don't want to be shot at
Crazy stuff, I know
@Graingy that makes way more sense..
@Randomplayer That wasn't directed at you, thus the break before I tagged you.
Though it is often very tempting to let a missile loose. I'll be flying a GLF-80A and have the Hellpit of BuzzBird missile selected (both of which have high firing angles) and just... mmmm I need it I need it.
I rarely do, though, since I have some manners.
Issue is when someone blows you up it's hard to tell if it was an on purpose with intent to anger you (thus warranting retaliation or a kick), or just an accident/not expecting to actually do anything/hit.
@Graingy I never do anything to random players unless I ask them
Are you firing them at random people?
@Randomplayer The issue a lot of the time is that nothing is standardized. SP became less video game engineering and more actual engineering mixed with game design, since the most advanced craft were essentially a flight model built using mathematics wearing a plane-shaped decorative skin (a way of doing things that, if I'm to let my own opinions shine through for a moment, I quite strongly dislike; it's incredible disingenuous). Different builders would do this to varying extents. Some people did it to the max (were the actual functional part is a fuel tank, engine, and a couple wing parts), while some did it barely (maybe some modified drag or engine thrust here or there). Obviously the former is far more powerful than the latter since it rejects all normal limitations from SP engineering in favour of straight math.
On top of that, how do you determine that two aircraft are a match? A 6th gen UFO triangle is certainly above a 4th gen, but what about a budget 4th gen vs a very maneuverable and expensive 4th gen?
It really doesn't help that for some stupid reason respawning in place gives you zero preserved airspeed, meaning you just fall to Earth. If you're shot down you need to climb again from the ground.
because most of the time people are using SP1 planes, and you know how people LOVE to XML mod their missiles.
