This is an archived video of the Cave game tech test, which was the first recorded version of Minecraft (the original YouTube video is region locked worldwide). No UI, no placing or breaking blocks, and it internally refers to itself as "RubyDung" (a cancelled prior project which was the source of the textures and source code).
The description is as follows:
This is a very early test of an Infiniminer clone I'm working on. It will have more resource management and materials, if I ever get around to finishing it.
It currently runs at about 700 fps for a 256x256x64 tile map.
You can follow development on my blog: / notch

@TheLoadingGorilla Pick yourself apart too often and you may struggle to put the pieces back right.
@ComradeSandman I’m gonna climb back into my hole and ponder my life's decisions. Goodbye.
@TheLoadingGorilla Not talking about you.
@ComradeSandman apparently not...
@KatBapa20 I am American. The way I have been taught is M/D/Y (which, admittedly, doesn't seem to make sense chronologically), so that’s probably what it is. @ComradeSandman I apologize for being so stupid.
@KatBapa20 Does he know?
I think they are from another country, considering that their date system is kinda different from yours and to be honest, it looks kinda confusing to you, isn't that right? @TheLoadingGorilla
@TheLoadingGorilla D/M/Y.

@ComradeSandman yes...?
@TheLoadingGorilla It's December.
Wait isn't the date 12/11/25?
