SP1 Beta v1.12.209 Live

CM SupremeDorian  yesterday

Hey there! A teeny tiny update was just pushed out to the beta branches of SimplePlanes 1 on Steam and Google Play. The only change in this update is that we've updated the game to a newer version of Unity in order to address that pesky security vulnerability that was going around. We're not expecting the game to be any different, but if any of you in the beta branches experience any issues please let us know. Thanks!

Please tell Andrew that at least a hundred thousand Chinese mobile phone players are eagerly awaiting the official release of the Android version of sp1

@SupremeDorian Hm. Well, at least it's fixed.

@Graingy A few months ago, Unity discovered a security vulnerability affecting pretty much all versions of Unity and therefore the games that run on them. Nobody exploited that vulnerability, but it could in theory allow some dangerous exploits to be performed as essentially malware, so a quick security patch was made to the engine for developers to update their games to.

Kind of an interesting vulnerability, from what I’ve heard it basically meant if a malicious person could get files into a certain location the game could execute them under certain conditions. You could make a mod that puts malware into place there and then executes it for instance, which is the type of thing you aren’t allowed to do.
This is just the way I understand it, it sounds bad but it apparently would be quite difficult or even impossible to execute for most situations, hence why Jundroo didn’t patch this security vulnerability it for 2 months.

Oh, is that was what that was all about? yeah, it's running a little smoother. the older version was starting to feel laggy and having lag coming in and out of window.
