Graingy Survey: How Fast Can You Type?

51.0k Graingy  13 hours ago

Just a little off-topic survey for funsies.

So, type speed. How many WPM can you do?
You can find tests online (for example, Typing.com) which can give you an estimate for your speed.

Of course, a typing test won't super accurately reflect how fast you can type your own words (since it lays out letters and sentences in front of you), but it can still be a fun little challenge nonetheless.

Try a three minute test. How'd you do? Accuracy counts too, of course.

    I got ~71-78 at 95% accuracy. Not great, not terrible.

    @eggstick There's a joke in here that I'm not going to make because it's not my style.

    @Boeing727200F Incredible. I assume your lightning fast replies are the product of telepathy?
    @Ashdenpaw1 no. bad.
    @tetozz Impressive. I doubt I could touch that.

    I got 30 WPM with 93% accuracy
    that is.. on phone, since I can't see the first words bc the keyboard lifts the page up at which puts the word offscreen
    .
    After some more tests i have done, the final one I got is 43 WPM with 94% accuracy

    pushed myself to the limit and spent so much blood sweat and tears to get a perfect score of 5 WPM and a 55% accuracy.

    @PlaneFlightX I believe you, one doesn’t become a computer science major (or whatever you are, I forgot) without knowing their way around the keyboard. I’m more suspicious of the “135wpm in Roblox” guy.

    @PlaneFlightX Damn, that's impressive.
    @32 On a phone!? Wow. I'd be surprised if I could breach 30 with even 70% accuracy. Hate touchscreens...

    My best is like 95wpm with 99% accuracy.
    On my phone I just got 68 with 90% accuracy lol

    Also, I have a suspicion that some of the people here are lying.

    110 WPM, 96% accuracy. I seem to type using a modified form of the two index finger method, so a hybrid of touch typing and two finger typing.

    @Randomplayer Uh, probably shouldn't do that. Harder to catch mistakes as you type.

    @Graingy 45 wpm with an accuracy of 87.
    not bad considering I usually look down at my keyboard when I type, although for the test I did not.

    @jamesPLANESii Have you considered using electronic pulses? That's what I do.
    Granted, I should probably learn to use more output points, but that's difficult so I'm staying with five.
