Military Programs Cancelled
As of March 3, 1965, Spinnish president Julio Montesa approved the cancellation of multiple military programs enacted by the former president Frangusto Fiasco, as a result of significant delays and political uncertainty. He has now started plans to build a military based upon his own warfare strategies, although we cannot disclose which vehicles and weapons will result from this.
Political Chaos
In the past year, regarding numerous cases of corruption and division in the Parliament, the Social Democratic Union (Prado’s Party) has begun slowly separating itself from the influence of the Imperial Restoration Front. (Montesa’s Party) They have started to build a foundation of establishing freedom from censorship and partitioning Latinia (Italy, Sicily, and Western Mediterranean Islands) into a sovereign nation. The Imperialists disagree with the Socialists on this matter. The Imperialists want Latinia to remain under Spinnish rule (considering its major political, economic, and military power), and defend the idea of Montesa’s censorship. Meanwhile both the Federal Progress Party (Céspedes) and the National Consolidation Party (Fiasco) are staying away from the rising tension. With a Social Democratic Union majority in the Parliament (40 of the 100 seats), they have the ability to swing decisions in their favor given specific circumstances. Protests have risen in the streets of Madrid, with many acts of vandalism occurring at the presidential building. Many are dissatisfied with president Montesa’s poor handling of the situation in Bruh-zil, and his seemingly constant inability to organize a true peace deal for the past four years—the entirety of his time in office so far. Rumors are spreading of the Socialists seizing military stockpiles and reserves in Port-uh-gal and Northern Spin, however there is no concrete evidence to support this claim. But one thing is for certain: if none of this is settled, Spin will fall into a civil war.
