My question is simple:
Is it possible to change the thumbnail of a post after it's been uploaded (similarly to making crafts a successors to other crafts) ?
I was just wondering since I sometimes find that the initial thumbnail of my builds are not entirely like I imagined and that I would like to change it without reuploading the entire thing and tagging everyone who already upvoted.
[Edit] If this question had been answered before, sorry, I'm too lazy to look for it :)
@JBPAviation ah, touche
@Graingy that is strange indeed....
It’s my top post, SimplePaints. See for yourself.
@JBPAviation nope.
@Graingy that's an interesting bug...
did you report it?
I have a post where the screenshots just… don’t exist for some reason. It’s weird.
@Monarchii I use shaders these days but only recently discovered how to change the exposure of them in game. This really helps and I will keep your advice in mind to rase it even if it looks weird.
Maybe I didn't realise the difference the brightness of the site makes since I upload on PC with the dark mode browser extension.
really my only advice here is taking account of the fact that the site is BRIGHT hella, so you gotta crank the brightness of your thumbnails up like a lot.
.
SP is also naturally dark, even at the brightest spots it's still dark af. that's why any unedited thumbnail feels so bland and unattractive most of the time
@JBPAviation
I hope so, it would be really nice.
@TheMouse Thanks for that
I usually do the unlisted thing but sometimes I still find another screenshot I like more after the post went public.
Oh well, I guess it's just one of those things. Maybe they can change it for SP2
I don't know how @UkrTehnoAir thinks you can change it afterward, it is not possible. If you have the xml file you can change what other users will download, but this does not affect how the post itself looks.
As far as I know, even the mods cannot change thumbnails.
As for the problem you were having, I recommend you post the plane as unlisted first without tagging anyone. This gives you a good chance to write the description as well. You can look at how the thumbnail looks, and if it is good, then you can post. If not, you can try again without annoying any of your tag list.
It is possible through a file
