This announcement/teaser will become a masterpost as stories are added
Over the past couple weeks I've been hard at work building up a backlog of five short stories.
This collection totals around fifteen-hundred words with installments varying from over two thousand to nearly four thousand words. Each takes place within its own setting, some seen before, others not. See below for more detail on each! (And feel free to ask questions if you want to know whether something interests you.)
As to not flood the forums these will be released over a period of some days. Each individual story will be logged into The Library of Guy, as well as into this masterpost (which will also have its own section in the Library).
While not originally intended as part of this collection, out of convenience another story will be added as a bonus to the beginning of this collection. This bonus story should be released within a day or so by my reckoning.
The others may take some time as I hope to find someone to pre-read them for feedback. They are complete, just in need of final refinements. This goes for the titles as well.
If you wish for a tag on any of these, ask here!
Pre-existing short story tags will be included, as on this post.
Bonus:
(As-of-yet unnamed, ironically) [Link to be added once posted]
Length: Approx. 6.2k words, 2 distinct parts (both included)
Library of Guy Rating: N,B,[N/A],Q,T
Summary: A powerful machine from another realm falls into a world it's never seen before. Damaged, it must find its way on this unfamiliar planet whilst getting along with its people.
Library of Guy Section: Soian Reference
Grainthology Vol. 1
When Tuesday Triggers
Length: Approx. 2.8k words
Library of Guy Rating: N,B,G,Q,T
Summary: If reality is stranger than fiction, then what's stranger than reality? The fact that the Soviet President's quarters need to be boarded shut for the good of the country would be a start. A trusted minister and a newbie Kremlin guard are on the task with questionable efficacy.
Library of Guy Section: Sovetsky Soyuz
Notes: A very low-stakes, casual story. Serves to introduce characters rather than progress a deep plot. Additionally, "Sovetsky Soyuz" is a broader category than the content already in it would suggest. You'll see why.
Tanks and Robbers
Length: Approx. 2.4k words
Library of Guy Rating: N,I,G,Q,T
Summary: Most weapons end up in the boneyards or in scrapheaps; these ones come home with you. The plus side to this is that you couldn't get better property defence if you tried. They make great friends, too.
Library of Guy Section: Autofighters [NEW]
Notes: A sillier setting, just for fun. This one has never before been seen on this site in any manner whatsoever. If mecha based off tanks sound interesting you to, you might like this one.
Should You Wreck
Length: Approx. 3.2k words
Library of Guy Rating: N,B,G,L,T
Summary: Working for those who are great and powerful fills life with risk when those lofty overlords have the most terrible enemies. They insist they feel the same, face the same potential ends, but how can they, really?
Library of Guy Section: Soian Reference
Notes: A look at the lower workers of the Soian Empire, this is new material! If you can't stand how Soian units are numbered and wish they had actual names, this story holds answers. Whether you'll like those answers...
Permafrost Legacy
Length: Approx. 4k words
Library of Guy Rating: N,B,G,Q,T
Summary: Derelict buildings and endeavours long left behind are bound to attract the adventurous sort. This is no less true for the frozen skeleton of Graingy's beginnings, a decaying tundra fortress in the empty north.
Library of Guy Section: The Work of Graingy
Notes: A small glimpse into what remains of Graingy's first HQ, first shown (briefly) in The Saga of Kindness. If you like dusty ruins and dark spaces, this story is for you.
The Mountains Dare (title subject to change)
Length: Approx. 2.8k words
Library of Guy Rating: N,B,G,Q,T
Summary: The first thing many will do upon returning from a long travel is refamiliarize themselves with home. For an outdoorsy alien, this means skipping the train and walking through the woods instead; even if there are inherent risks in doing so.
Library of Guy Section: Tales of Anstrake
Notes: A lighthearted trip through the forests of Anstrake, with a few insights into the flora, fauna, people, and geography of this lively world. Very straightforward.
Once again, all except the bonus story, which is out very soon, will take time to actually come out. When they do they will be linked here.
I hope I've managed to pique your interest with one of these premises.
When the time comes, enjoy!
@Ashdenpaw1 At least it's not Louisiana.

@Ashdenpaw1 I feel like you just unleashed a psychic attack on me. Ow.
Please do not say that again. That makes me uncomfortable, whatever that means. In-a-bad-way uncomfortable.
And I assure you, biped fashion does not well apply itself to pebbles. My appearance is best altered by what I surround myself with, not what I wear.
I can add you to the tags, yes. That is, assuming you actually intend to read them.
