-i... really can't make a large airship do the large airship like how it should
SO!
I'm gonna have to start small, like all of us do!
just one gun, a smol airship... ONE GUN!?? ARE YOU JOKING!?? HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO DECORATE A- *cough*
anyway, I know the title's a bit clickbaity(it IS clickbait, don't sugarcoat it, chii), but honestly?
I can't make the MMN Vichy Nieparte(an aerial large cruiser) actually do the.. normal way it's supposed to work.
so that's gonna be shelved for now until I can figure out how to make an airship cause apparently.. it is different than making a spaceship, whouda thunk?
anyway cheers to y'all, I'm probably gonna make a local garrison patrol airship.. or a fast recon airship.. I don't know really.
my imagination is trying to murder my skill, help.
@Graingy yeah, not as hard as you'd think, but yeah
@Monarchii still have to get the balance right, though.
@Graingy nah not really, just put the engine in-line with the CoM and go from there.
.
alternatively be like me and build weightless and add weight later. you can add but reducing it is a pain in the ass, just like cooking.
@Monarchii trying to balance it perfectly sounds like a lot of math tbh
@Graingy honestly, I'll probably improve it later if I get issues, but the base model works so I don't think I even need to, hopefully.
@Graingy downwards, I am stupid.
@Monarchii ... Pushes down?
Is that a typo?
In any case, sounds similar to the system I use, with the caveat that the propulsion engines are attached to the body and there's only lift engines. Climbing and descent is controlled by throttling the lift thrust.
I... can't remember if the body uses its own gyro. Probably.
Check the Warspite. I won't be able to play SP for a few weeks at least, unfortunately.
oh, I should mention, the gyro that keeps the jet pointing down is separate from the gyro that stabilizes your craft.
I'm terrible at explaining, I know.
@Graingy just.. well, the latest build of mine(the Quivigne) has it, but to explain it into words..
.
okay so, two rotators(both on free spin) and a gyroscope helps keep the jet(that suspends the airship) stay properly upright so that it doesn't push anywhere but down.
.
then added some jet to control the up-downs, and some for forward-reverse.
.
added some wings for turning, that's it.
@Monarchii How does your system work?
@Graingy well, good news, I made it work.
@Monarchii Oh. Those are pretty simple, though, are they not?
Just hang a fancy Christmas ornament from a couple jet engines plus a gyro and you're golden.
... In theory, at least.
airships are not spaceships, I mistook that they probably could be interchangeable, and yes, they can, just.. that it doesn't work like an actual airship.
@Graingy yeah, but they're like, basically aircrafts. what I'm making(or wanted to make... and still making, just a smaller one) is an actual airship, the whole "weightless" skywhales and whatnot
If I may ask, what about airships was giving you trouble? Haven’t you been making loads?
Pity.
@Graingy how dare you, I cannot.
@YarisSedan y e
YOU CAN THINK!?!?
@ShinyGemsBro
I thinks
i plans
i builds
you thinks
you plans
you builds
