Feature Suggestion: Installable Radar + Realistic Stealth Mechanics in SimplePlanes 2

Hello Jundroo team,

With the exciting advancements in SimplePlanes 2, I’d like to suggest two complementary features that could elevate both design and gameplay to a whole new level:

  1. Installable Radar Systems for Player Aircraft
Players should be able to design aircraft equipped with radar systems capable of detecting targets at long range, locking onto enemies, and displaying positional data on a HUD or radar screen. This could include:

    • Detection of targets beyond visual range
    • Target locking for guided weapons
    • Displaying enemy distance and bearing
    • Enabling reconnaissance, interceptor, or electronic warfare roles
    • Creating meaningful differences between radar-equipped and basic aircraft
  2. Realistic Stealth Mechanics
Alongside radar, stealth should be more than just visual—it should function. Aircraft like the B-2 or B-21, designed with low radar cross-section (RCS), should genuinely evade enemy detection. I suggest:

    • Implementing RCS parameters for parts and fuselage
    • Enemy radar should only trigger warnings if detection thresholds are met
    • If an aircraft successfully avoids detection, replace “Warning” with feedback like “Stealth Mode Active” or “Under Radar Cover”

Together, these features would make stealth design purposeful and radar gameplay strategic. Players could build aircraft that not only look advanced but behave realistically in tactical scenarios.

Thank you for considering this idea.

Respectfully,
