CAMANIA DEPLOYS JERICHO-CLASS BATTLECRUISER IN SUCCESSFUL ASSAULT ON ZV CORP SUBMARINE

CAMANIA CITY — Building on the recent success of the Kingdom of Los’ HAC-1B flying fortress in capturing a rogue submarine linked to the elusive ZV Corporation, the Camanian States have launched a decisive naval operation to hunt down and neutralize similar underwater threats in the region.

Yesterday, the Camanian Maritime Defense Force deployed its newly commissioned Jericho-class battlecruiser—a heavily armed and technologically advanced capital ship designed for deep-sea combat—alongside two Longbow-class guided missile cruisers and a Howard-class missile destroyer to patrol suspected ZV Corp operational zones.

The joint task force’s mission quickly bore fruit when radar operators aboard the Jericho-class battlecruiser detected a submarine exhibiting movement patterns strikingly similar to the previously commandeered vessel discovered by the Kingdom of Los. According to a young sailor stationed on the Jericho’s deck, “When we locked on the target, all four ships opened up with such intensity, you thought the world was ending. It was like a symphony of fire and steel.”

The hostile submarine attempted to retaliate, launching countermeasures and ASMs, but was unable to penetrate the formidable missile defenses maintained by the Camanian fleet. For nearly ten minutes, the vessels exchanged fire in a fierce engagement.

Ultimately, the Longbow-class cruiser CSCG Pike succeeded in delivering a crippling strike with an ASM, forcing the submarine to surface. Once exposed, the submarine was relentlessly pummeled by the combined firepower of the Jericho battlecruiser and its escorting vessels’ 115mm deck guns, reducing the threat to debris. This was the first engagement in nearly 70 years, in which a naval vessel was sunk by enemy onboard artillery.

A salvage operation is currently underway to collect the remains of the ZV Corp submarine. In an official statement from the CCD,

"The official plan is to put the resources acquired into making more Jericho class Battlecruisers, not only does this boost our naval presence but it also helps deter further aggression from ZV Corp."

Military analysts note that the engagement underscores Camania’s rapidly growing naval capability and its resolve to secure regional waters from the unconventional maritime threat posed by the ZV Corporation. The Jericho-class battlecruiser, equipped with state-of-the-art sensors, electronic warfare suites, and heavy armaments, is expected to spearhead future anti-submarine operations.

The Camanian Council of Defense has vowed continued vigilance and increased coordination with allied nations, emphasizing that the campaign against ZV Corp’s underwater assets is far from over.
