[KE-RP] New Military Programs

70.1k B1BLancer  yesterday

Mechanized Infantry

The Imperial Republic of Spin has initiated a new military program to develop and construct a prototype for mechanized infantry armor. 5 prototypes are planned, which will illustrate the technology for future use. It will take the course of the next decade, and will be for experimental purposes.

GAMBT-Y950M2

The GAMBT-Y950M2 will be a more modern and advanced version of the original GAMBT-Y950M1. Equipped with ERA, thermal sights, gun stabilization, a new engine, and an improved armor layout, it will be ready in 1957 to replace the GAMBT-Y950M1. It has been proven to have weak armor and poor reliability during conflicts in the Your-upean region, and the M2 will fix that.

MMT-55D1

The MMT-55D1 program was started in 1952, and will be finished 1956. Featuring impressive armor, gun stabilization, thermals, and an experimental anti-tank missile system, it can dominate the battlefield. It will have an engine that has been worked on since 1950 for future tanks. (specifically this one.) It will come with improved filters and ventilation for desert conditions, and will have. A thick track layout to disperse its weight across sand, snow, mud, and other similar terrain. It will replace the LIMA-1A1 Badger as the newest mobile and integrated tank, although with much thicker and advanced armor.

MFV-18 Toro

The MFV-18 will be a wheeled IFV with a 40mm auto cannon. It will transport infantry across the battlefield and will feature experimental hydro pneumatic suspension just like on the GDAV-3 Scamp. It will be just like the LIMA-1A1 in terms of armor and communication integration. It will be serviced by 1958.

@BOSKnight exactly. But this one is nuclear powered and has one of the most powerful reactors in the world. It was being developed since 1945 and was put on the RSS Zaragoza in 1950 while it was being built. The ship can achieve an impressive top speed of 40.8 knots, which is a little over 47 miles per hour. That is really good for a ship of this size, considering the Iowa-class battleship USS New Jersey reached a top speed of 35.2 knots (40.5 mph) for a full 6 hours in 1968.

@B1BLancer you just have to remember, the bigger the boat, the slower it is, no matter how many engines you put in it.

@B1BLancer true. But the modernization of the Iowa is like recreating it from the ground up. This is like the modernized Iowa on steroids

@B1BLancer again, the battleship has gone the way of the horse.

@BOSKnight That is why like I have depicted, it is like the modernized versions of the Iowa-class battleships. They are basically anti-ship missile carriers with large cannons for offshore bombardment. They go in task forces. This is also why I waited to equip it with the very advanced SAMS-250 Sovereign air-defense system developed by GCI. You think I don’t realize that aircraft can make quick work of the usual battleship? That is why my approach is so unorthodox.

Second, I am more advanced still. Battleships, found by our scientists and engineers, have shown to be too big, expensive, slow, and a huge target. Carriers and destroyers in “strike groups” show to have more efficient results.

@B1BLancer The M1A1 is about to be completed. It’s the MBT-70, but a tad more complicated than said tank.
