So...guess i need a cochlear implant surgery and recovery will take a few weeks and rehabilitation (i hear speech therapy will he needed after) might take months or maybe a year. Im lowkey slightly disappointed since i had my life plan set and i was quite excited to execute it soon. But i guess thats being pushed back. So...i guess i'll still be here. I may not post a lot but im not saying goodbye and i'll be with y'all when SP2 drops. But hey, don't get me wrong. I get to chill with y'all for a while longer.
@DEADSHOT16 hell yeah brother
@NTH it wasnt fine "a few months ago", more like slowly dying over the course of my 19 years of existence. it was born already crappy but now its on a full blown course to go deaf entirely within the next few months. its almost there. hence the cochlear implant surgery.
@DEADSHOT16 Dang, what a plot twist this is. Hey, but why do you need a full blown biomechanic upgrade and why is your ear dead after it was fine a few months ago?
@DEADSHOT16 maybe even Cyberpunk atp
bros gonna be chippin in soon
jokes aside hope it goes well <33
@Axartar i wonder. Does that technically make me technically a cyborg at this point? Because now i have machine enhancements to help me hear instead of relying on my now almost dead human left ear. LMAO. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance comes to mind.
@DEADSHOT16 one of the coolest scientific innovations in your body will be dope, and hey itll be nice to see you come sp2
hm
@Graingy idk man. I havent even gotten it yet. Plus my left ear was fine many years ago. so my left ear knows what sound is what but from what i hear, whatever goes into the microphone, the implant converts it to electrical signals that go to the nerve, allowing us to actually hear it
Oh yeah I got that. I was more wondering if there was a significant difference in the resulting data feed, so much that one has to learn to interpret it as sound.
@Graingy My left ear is nearly dead. A cochlear implant is a surgery that connects an electrical implant in the cochlea (which interprets sound as electrical signals that go to the brain which is how we hear and process sound). The implant is connected to an external microphone. So basically, a microphone that connects straight to the brain. I'll be able to hear perfectly out of my left ear again. But again, this is a surgery that deadass involves drilling into my skull a bit to insert the internal systems in my hear and then the external systems (the microphone) can be magnetically attached once its done. Look up a video about them and you'll see a better explanation than mine.
Off Wikipedia. Any idea what exactly that means?
Well, at least you will still be here!
