Simplest method is a single set of nozzles either side of the Centre of Mass, you need rcns front back left and right if you want some control.
Don't forget RCN ports for control.
it is important to have the CoT right on the CoM or your plane will not be balanced.
Have the nozzles at the CoM, best to be centered up-down if used for horizontal thrust, RCN nozzles work with the VTOL engine to provide turning forces
Have you looked at one of the starter planes called the vertigo?
