Should I be worried?

3,808 Pnut  1.2 years ago

A Linux device has done some activities on one of my Google account, luckily nothing happened, but I still have extreme paranoia so bad that I tape all my cameras shut. I don't even know any relatives who use Linux. Should I be worried?

@Pnut it's getting worse on YouTube. Ad playing back-to-back, in between videos and when the video is over. It's about time somebody put them in their place.

@overlord5453 yeah I do the same on ads too. I understand that some web takes revenue from ads but I really hates it when they got a little too forceful

@YarisSedan that's probably the case considering the nature of the ad. I too does not click on any ad. I despise them. The more they try to push an ad on my face, the more I hate. While on YouTube, I just close the video every time an ad pops up. I don't care what the ad is about, I will not watch it. I'd rather close the app.

@overlord5453 maybe the site got taken down by the company hosting said website? i mean considering the sketchy and unprofessional nature of the website, I'd say it's not surprising, and no, i didn't click on any ads, infact even if i visit a website with a crap ton of ads cough fandom cough i would be extremely careful not to click on any ads regardless of how intrusive they are since im too lazy to install an adblocker

@YarisSedan could be an ad you accidentally clicked on. If you don't mind me asking, what was the website that popped up?

@overlord5453 @TheMouse don't know if this is related but, i saw something on my search history this morning that doesn't come from sp.com unlike those other things that popped up in my search history, not only that, but the website itself is very sketchy, if i recall correctly, it talks about crypto or nft or some shit, i don't know how that website managed to pop out of nowhere, and just so you guys know, i did have 2 factor authentication on, and so far everything on my device and account is fine, so how the fuck does that sketchy ass website pop up then?

You should be worried. Change your password, set up two factor authentication, and sign out of all other devices.
