Pacific Rim = Big Heavy robots
Gurren Lagann = Smol agile robots
And, both are just as unrealistic and by what you say as appealing is subjective. Also, I can't really say that one is better than the other. I love pacific rim. I also love Gurren Lagann. Why do we have to compare the two? It's fine that you're grounded by reality and it's rules, but don't just dismiss us who prefer things that aren't.
@Graingy ok I understand the universe sized robot part, I preferred when it was more realistic sized, which is why I prefer Gundam or code geass over it

And yes, it was inspired by Japanese media, however I feel it took what I find as a much more appealing direction with the premise than... whatever the heck Japan does with it.
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 I'll have to take your opinion on that. I don't watch anime, but I vastly prefer realistic/grounded media to universe-sized backflipping things with more shoulder than Atlas himself.
