1,192 SlavicUnionist  1.2 years ago

April 12, 1961, in the soviet union, Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin, a soviet air force pilot, was to be launched to space via the Vostok 1. Where he succeeded, orbiting our beautiful yet divided planet for 108 minutes. Before returning back to earth, safely.

A significant scientific milestone, proving that with enough training and equipment, Human Spaceflight is possible. Paving the Way for future crewed missions.
