While SimplePlanes is running, right click the speaker item in the system try and select Open Volume Mixer. Do you see SimplePlanes in the list with volume at 100%?

Are you on macOS or Windows?

So you can hear other applications but not SP noises [1]
or is it you can hear noises from SP but not the music [2]
