If someone used a randomizer variable (I.E how the "talking" system worked on the O.V.O automatic flight system)

Could that be use to make a chance system when starting a engine or firing a gun or weapon

Update: I figured out how the engine would stop working on the signal of failure the engine would detach and a magnetic would grab it so it doesn’t fall out of the plane
