Decided to have another go at a race car, and do it right this time.
Keep in mind this is an old prototype in the pictures and the latest one gets rid of the tiny spoiler in favor of active aero (flaps that move to increase downforce and minimize drag, like the one found on the Pagani Huayra).
This uses 4 of V's actuators an is entirely using control bases and fuselage parts for the suspension, the ride height is adjustable as a fun feature of the actuators. Since the weight of the car is similar to that of the real thing (1800lbs) the suspension works good on low physics without having to stiffen the springs to high hell.
It sounds electric, and will have a electrical mechanic where it recharges when coasting and discharges when accelerating, hopefully with 32's help I can get that working.
Problems
The car randomly losses traction for no reason at a very specific speed.
The car rolls into a corner instead away from it which is pretty weird, I guess it could either be the actuators or the aero, either way I am marketing that as a feature, unless I find a way to fix it.
This thing really wants to be a drift missile for some reason.
Questions
Should I make the handling more realistic and engaging to drive? Like needing to break, coast, using racing lines etc. Or do you just wanna glide through all the corners without breaking (pretty boring tbh)
Is it possible to make a F-1 inspired steering wheel VR capable? Like with all the buttons and switches?
