Wow! Since i've been off, there's a LOT of news to cover! let's get to it then!

NEW UPDATE?

Again, our president Andrew Garrison has released a new post detailing a new update to simpleplanes. This post was titled "Updates galore and Steam sale". In this post, he went over a new update, which he described as "The final update for Simpleplanes" before Jundroo "Sails off into the next project". This is not speculated to mean that Jundroo is fully abandoning SimplePlanes, but we do know now for sure that there is going to be a large time gap before the next "update" that everyone's been screaming about. Personally, I do not believe that there is a need to have a new game, maybe just a revamp of the old one. Does anyone wanna spend $6 on this game only to find out that they are making a separate game, making you spend another $6? I thought not.

This just in, it has been confirmed that many players are leaving the site and the game to go join a separate community: Flyout. Apparently this game boasts "better graphics" "more optimization" and "more realism." WHAT A LOAD OF MALARKEY!!! Simpleplanes is, and will always be, superior to Flyout. Please, Please remain faithful to this game.

ALMOST THERE...

Good news! I'm almost to 100 points! that means I will get to begin posting videos! I plan to post a video series of VR gameplay with some of the most realistic planes on the website. The first video right now will include the SWL-10, the RA80 MAX, and the Wasp Phoenix Modernization. If this post gets enough upvotes, I may be able to begin working on the video.

Featured Creator: Mekomara

Mekomara has been on the site for 7.4 years, and makes some extremely detailed naval craft, but also redesigns original Jundroo stock planes, giving them more detail better cockpits. Personally, some of their creations are my most flown planes and VR and I find myself constantly checking for new ones. They currently have 16.5k points, making them a gold user.

gotta agree with the flyout slander, simple planes is a better game, beautiful in its simplicity, I love the building tools more than any other game I've played to date due to relative ease of use xml tolerance and inclusion and honestly some of the jankiness in the physics makes it more fun, like ive had way more fun building a harness for the USS tiny to make it go at mach 2, than building or flying any detailed craft. this game is a hub of creativity, and I love that its not even all about planes anymore, cars, helis, mechs, subs, boats, etc etc. I've stuck around for going on 6 years odd for a reason

Don't worry, I won't take that to offense, but I believe SP will survive with all the new players coming in by busloads, and many of our best and most famous users have pledged their allegiance, so I will say that Flyout may leave a big dent, but ultimately won't kill SP completely

I hate to break it to you, but I'm fairly closely involved with FlyOut, and I've also been part of the SP community for almost 8 years. Yes, FlyOut is better, it's not even close. Graphics, modelling, armament, physics simulations, ease of building, features are all superior. I mean it's not surprising, SP was fairly archaic even when it launched in 2014, let alone now. It got such a community because there was nothing really like it. Now there is, with a 9 year advantage, and it's better. Such is progress, don't try and deny it though because you feel a tribal defensiveness. The only use SP will have in a couple weeks when FlyOut releases is for mobile users.
