how to lock planes +20km away?
I don’t think SimplePlanes has a simulation distance limit, you may be able to place a drone at Snowstone and fly to Yeager and control it from there. All I know is that you can’t have an AI craft more than 32 km away without despawning
That reminds me, does anyone actually know what the max simulation distance is?

Use a modified missile. It’s possible for a target to register up to 32km away if you spawn it in yourself. Are you familiar with the XML page?
