Why haven't they removed it yet?

This is probably a joke tag the developers made and the developers might not be interested in fixing this “it doesn’t work” problem.

Good question. I'm not exactly the all knowing owner of the simpleplanes wiki, BUT I can say that its there because some people have a lot to say in one forum. Most of it could be an announcement, some could be a teaser, asking a question...etc.
