Some ground targets cannot be locked onto from greater distances, such as the ground vehicles on Maywar. But really all ground vehicles have this "issue".

It would be nice if we could lock on to all ground targets from further distances, for tactical operations.

This goes two ways in my opinion. If we can lock onto targets from further away, they should be able to lock onto us from further away as well.
