@Griffith As an 8th grader, try bonding with her A LOT. The stronger the bond, the better the relationship. Try to be happy for her choices and criticize when neccessary.
Also try not to be a jerk, so don't diss people she hangs around with, especially the guy she is with.
Finally, uf you two really want to be together, you might be thinking about maybe asking her to break up with the guy, but that really isn't a good idea.

I’m probably not the best got to ask for advice about dating because I'm also a teen. Maybe just wait for them to break up (they should if she is in love with you) or tell her how you feel.
Maybe ask the guy who is dating her if u feel comfortable doing that. If not, it doesn't sound like they will last to long time so just wait and u will get your chance. Good luck!
