Background

After the Success of Operation Hit & Cap , The US send another Spying Mission above Snowstone .
The Whole Operation was done in Secret, nobody was informed about the Operation other than the Crew and the one Involved in the Operation...

Planning

The Plan was to Launch 2x F/A-18 Hornet from the Deck of USS Beast in the Night of the Mission, but turn out to be Morning Mission.
The Plane planned to be Involved was FA/18 with Reg No. 99-6942 and another FA-18 with Reg No. 76-2103 ...
but ended up only 76-29103 flying that Mission.

The Mission

76-2103 nicknamed ’Bass’

On 09:47a.m. , 76-2103 Was launched from the deck of USS Beast , The Engineer warns that maybe a Hydraulic Problem, but the mission goes on.

On 11:32 the Plane is now entering Snowstone ,Flying in 35.000ft The plane was safe from SAM but they still need to look out for Russian Fighters

Descending and Turn Back for USS Beast , The Ice Base Radar Spotted 76-2103 and locks onto it.
No Choice other than Attack back, Armed with only Dumb Bombs and no Guided Air-To-Ground Missile, The lonely Hornet is in Danger...

The Hornet drops it’s first Bomb, It got 1 of the Anti-Weapon-Laser
But the rest is still intact, Diving in 1 More time... The Hornet is doing a WW2 Style Boom & Zoom, But this time not avoiding 50Cals Gun, but Mach 3 Missiles forcing it to Drop it’s External Fuel Tank, losing 25% of Fuel

The Hornet somehow make a Direct Hit into the 2d SAM Launcher, The Missile Blew and Destroy the other one, but The Hornet is still locked by 2 Missiles,
trying to avoid the 2nd Missile, the 1st Missile hits the Right wing and destroy 1/3 of it, luckily doesn’t damage the Fuel Tank badly...

Having only less than half of Fuel supplies and half gone Right Wing, The plane spends too long avoiding missiles, The plane has 3 Choices :
- Ditching
- Force Land at Snowstone Tundra Wasteland
- Crash Land at Bandit/Yeager

Best choice is Yeager, But it won’t left barely a drop of fuel upon landing at Yeager, He risk it...
Noticed 2 MiG-31s the FA-18 is pushing its engine.
Realizing the MIG is gone, the Hornet continues.
Now the Yeager is on sight, no plane were on the runway...
