How to make awesome/scenic backgrounds when uploading planes

689 Locke  3.6 years ago

Hi SP family, Today I'm starting one of my largest and most in-depth build yet, an Ilyushin - 10. I was wondering how to, instead of adding pics of your plane in the designer mode, add pictures of them in flight or in scenic places.

Bagel's instructions are off a bit.
    - you need beta 1.10.103
    - this trick can make the first pic (which becomes the thumbnail of your upload) look really nice
    - take a screenshot edit it with photoshop (if you want)
    - go to blueprints mode in the designer -> use any view -> open the screenshot image
    - now on the right side of the screen, you will see + - symbols for zooming in or out. press the - button multiple times until your plane disappears on the background. This works on planes of any sizes.
    - on the left side of the screen you will see H and W adjustments for the pic size. Turn that up until it covers the entire screen.
    - Don't move from here
    - Click Share Aircraft and take a screenshot without moving the camera. You only need this first picture to grab attention for your plane in the website.
    - take succeeding screenshots as normal if you want to
    - upload as Unlisted
    - go to your plane's page, edit the description to make it pretty. Add more screenshots of your plane.
    - Publish

@47parzival41 Lol. I'm not really creative, but I do like logic though.

@47parzival41 I’m not sure. I always use designer suite. Maybe group all 3 pics together and move the camera as you take another picture.

Or, since your on Mac, get the designer suite mod and do the same thing. Just make sure to offset the images so you don’t catch your plane in the picture.

Here’s how to do it in BETA.
-Load level, fly plane and take regular screenshots. Recommend to put in screenshot mode. Photoshop, edit, so what you need to do with the screenshots you took.
-Go back to the designer, open blueprints select image(s) you want. One at a time I believe. Also, first picture taken will be the cover pic.
-Share Aircraft, and take pictures of the screenshots you pulled up.
-Upload and you should have an nice looking thumbnail.
