Teaser and Announcement: News & Doublebow Aircraft Carrier

3,749 offiry  3.9 years ago

I will be rather silent, and inactive for a little while. Maybe a week, two weeks, to work on a new Doublebow Aircraft Carrier. When I come back, it should be finished, if not almost done. I might still post, and I will still check notifications, ect., but not much else. When I come back, I should also have some platform upgrades.

Picture of Doublebow:

See you in a bit!

Progress update:

Here you go. There are two fully working catapults, deck with a realistic paint scheme like the Beast. There are hangars and loading bays as well as elevators, but elevators, blastpads, ect. are for show, sadly, and there are no physical hangars built in. But they are there on blueprints, so whatever. Currently only 590 DRAGG POINTZ so uh... Also 298 parts, 300 with the addition of engines. Estimated full build time of now to be 1 day and 17 hours. Or 41 hours of my life, wasted on a fictional carrier.

Progress Update 2: Elevators, bridge, countermeasures!

So, after scaling, it should be about 15,000 drag points, or measured at about 150 part-like run. So mobile can run 3 of these. On high q.

Whatever. Keep checking on this post to see when it is out!

T to be tagged,

M to be mentioned in the final post

Progress Update 3 Final:

So, a teaser on the new carrier based Blade fighter...

Flares!

Some more pics

Of two carriers, flex

Yeah. Just to flex those screenshots, I ran 2 of them at the same time there. Actually a phone can run up to four of these carriers w/ no problems, and on high quality.

So, pre-release of the carrier will be on 7/17/2020. Only people who are tagged will be able to see it. Mainly for testing in the wild. Then, after final revisions, it should be out for "human consumption" on 7/24/2020, after a week of testing.

Be prepared, or if you want to beta test, comment T!

@TanksWorldwide But, you have to remember that the two hulls are technically connected by a connector not much smaller than them, and also that all three provide buoyancy, so the stress levels are not as bad as expected. The connector has aircraft storage and passageways, as well as elevators, so the weight distribution makes all three parts generally stay in the same lateral and vertical position.

@WereOutOfNames I am basically writing an essay right now... 😅

But just to clarify, this is my own build, the dimensions do not perfectly match up for that reason. Most of the scale, as in catapult length to blastpad size, are based on carriers on Wikipedia, not the real Beast. Someday when it comes out, you will be able to see an obvious difference. But since there aren't many good things to base the deck in, I just looked at the Beast color scheme, placing, so yeah.

    If this were an essay,

I would ask for a grade?

@WereOutOfNames It's a close Replica, though. Took a long while to get it right. The Doublebow is of now the size of a destroyer, so I need to scale it. Using the Beast premodel would mean scaling all of that, ect. Also, it's slanted, so most of the fuselages that make the Beast are using a bunch of run, while mine is straight.

@WereOutOfNames No, I just took a picture of the Beast in-game, then loaded it into the blueprint thing. If there was a way to load in-game models, I would like it, though. Then again, there is the Beast's XML creation folder in airplanes, I know that some people have gotten it out but setting the load destination to the other catagories.

@TanksWorldwide @WereOutOfNames Uh, well it actually, first, I updated the description on the progress, and second, the two hulls actually have a very wide connection area, so there will be either 2 or 4 elevators, which lower into the hangar loading area, connecting the two hulls, which both have extra space.
