Help With Boat Building!

4 SmolEgg  3.8 years ago

I am currently attempting to build a large scale boat, but in the process I’m having trouble even getting the base started. I’m trying to make it one piece with a few others to shape the hill but every time I go to test it the hull just seizures in the water and fillips over. I am new to boats in this game and building in general. I’m not sure if I have to include floating blocks as the buoyancy feature may not be enough to stabilize the fuselage part I’m using. I am modding the fuselage part using XML and overload. Any help and advice is appreciated greatly!

Look at my ships, i use nearly the same method as Aeromen (without No Drag), i use 2 piece hull instead of 3, i use jet engine to move the ship, i use wings on rotator to turn, i have not used gyroscope for my ship except destroyer or other small ship that i make, also add a very long wing for the rudder and then scale it so that it looks normal, usually 1,0.1,1 or less for the mid one (1,this,1), only using 1 piece of fuselage is not a good idea, i have made one, and it does work but it needs pontoons

@Aeromen thank you for detailing the process as most online guides weren’t helpful

The underwater part should not be buoyant, so it is recommended to set up a bottom-up three-layer structure with a dead weight balance at the bottom (more than half of the ship's total weight) with a very thin layer of fuel tank in the middle (the ship will float on this waterline), and the upper layer can be built directly.
