Automotive 'fashion' killed it. Since the cars started to be less cube-shaped the Pop-ups are gone. They don't really matching with a curvy body line. Also they not really aerodynamic... But who cares they are Rad as hell i want them back too!

Safety hazard . I believe it's because cars are required to have a sort of crumple zone so car crashes wouldn't be as deadly anymore
