  • how to add a sub assembly to game simpleplanes pc?.PLEASE ANSWER 6.0 years ago

    • Select the parts that you want to make in to a subassembly

    • Make sure they aren't connected to a cockpit

    • Click the little arrow button that opens the menu for rotating parts

    • Click the button with the subassemblies icon (the triangle above two squares)

Normally people do it with a hidden engine set to an action group. They often use an engine that is xml edited for more power, to get a big speed boost. VTOL engines are especially effective for this, and much easier to hide.

  • neon Thunder 5.6 years ago

@VTOLCO you did, but it may have been an accident or something. I know I've done it accidentally before now, it's no big deal.

As for the response to this plane: this community has suffered quite a lot from people stealing the work of others, unfortunately. As such, it makes people pretty quick to condemn what they see as copying. Don't take it personally, people just get jumpy about things

@Halfstrike it moved to the top left in the recent update, it only appears when you're dragging something that you can make in to a subassembly

  • How to Create Markings...? 5.6 years ago

Lots of little fuselage pieces, usually. It usually requires xml editing, but the latest update might make it a bit easier with the smaller fuselage piece limits. Being able to nudge is also really helpful. Nudge still works on mobile if you have a bluetooth keyboard or some other way of assigning an input to it. I believe some people even use headphones volume buttons.

  • how to download planes 5.7 years ago

Assuming you're on PC: you don't need to put them in a folder, just click the file and it should open the plane in the game. You can also download directly through the Steam browser if you're using Steam, or by copying the URL and then pressing ctrl+L in the builder if you're on Windows.

@RoyalTiger2 don't worry, I didn't say anything about you. Feel free to check through my comment history if you want. Navi is just angry with me because I temp banned him/her for copying planes, and even went so far as to make a new account called Suka to post about how awful I am

Don't worry, that's just because you've arrived in the middle of a big update. The extra content has been trialled on Steam first, and is now steadily coming to mobile platforms.

@iFalco I suppose there's no reason they couldn't, although the devs are the ones that do the IP bans, so if there's more to it then I wouldn't know.

  • Wheels, beta, polls, XML and drifting 5.6 years ago

Those refer to Unity's wheel friction curve. So far as I know, the extremum is the point at which traction is broken, and the asymptote is the amount of grip you have after said traction is broken.

    +1
  • how do resizable wheels work? 5.6 years ago

Increasing the damper strength and reducing forward traction should help a bit.

    +1
  • [PINNED] Markdown Formatting 5.7 years ago

@Hazard222 an alternate account. Normally this is fine, and I actually have a second account that I use to test things occasionally, but there are circumstances where it isn't. Using an alternate account to upvote your own planes, for example, will get you banned. Using one to get around your main account being banned is also very definitely against the rules, so I suggest you stay off of the website for the duration of the ban. Using alts to break the rules can result in an IP ban, which prevents any account coming from your IP (an online address for your specific internet connection) from accessing the site.

    +1
  • [PINNED] Markdown Formatting 5.7 years ago

@Hazard222 I didn't, but one of the other mods apparently has. Identifying this account as an alt is not a great idea.

@jamer57108 I know this response is super late, but it's called the Sea Vixen because it's a carrier-based fighter. Tradition in British military aviation is that the carrier version of a plane gets "Sea" on the front - Sea Harrier, Sea Hurricane, Seafire etc
