From Wright Airport:
Island chains longer than 1 island indicate the right direction Not on Mobile
From down below an enemy spotted
So hurry up rearm and refuel
But through the bomber's damaged airframe
See wounded men scared to the bone
Look to the right and then look again
And see the enemy in the eye
No bullets fly spared by his mercy
Out of harms way
Fly, fighting fair
It's the code of the air
Brothers, Heroes, Foes
Honour in the sky
B-17 flying home
Said goodbye to the cross he deserved
He risked his life two times that day
To save an unknown enemy
Escort to safety out of the kill zone
A short salute then departed
“We allow a wide variety of uploads that are not actually airplanes. However, we do reserve the right to remove posts if they are too far off-topic” I get this is for builds, but to an extent that section can be applied to the forums as well
Man and machine and nothing there in between
The flying circus and a man from Prussia
My understanding of the featuring system is that a mod or dev sees a post that they like, and have the ability to feature it. There is no specific automatic requirement for featuring, except that the mod or dev likes the post. This means that a build that has five upvotes, a build that is three years old or a build with only two parts have the same chance of being featured, the only difference being whether or not a mod or dev think it should be featured
@edensk clamp01() shouldn't be necessary when using boolean operators, I would instead suggest Airspeed>X ? rate(RollAngle) : 0
Airspeed>X ? rate(RollAngle) : 0
Thanks @Revan13152 @grizzlitn @KerlonceauxIndustries for the upvotes!
Thanks @WarHawk95 @tylerdeveneuxmusic @asteroidbook345 for the upvotes!
An xml input for fuelBurn or useOldFuelBurn would be useful, as then it keeps older builds more realistic/less broken (like the kitfox then having an endurance of ~20hrs, 8x the irl endurance)
if you use a magnet on a winch on a crane (like Feanor's Heavy Lift Ship-1989), and make it pick up the aircraft by the top of the fuselage (examples: 1 2 3), that should be able to recover it. another magnet on the seaplane's hull will allow it to attach to the ship to avoid slipping.
Operation Ten-Go 2: Electric Boogaloo
On mac (I don't know about any other platforms) the file location has changed from Unity.Jundroo.SimplePlanes to com.jundroo.SimplePlanesOSX
make a LASH like the MS München
@AndrewGarrison upgrading works, although downloading this it took three attempts: the first it asked if i had the latest version of the game, the second it said there was no internet and the third it went to 3906% before downloading
Not for a while, I am going to rebuild everything @Strikefighter04
When I get the motivation to get out my low end Windows i will try making a version two with more options for a designer and an android version
If I can get enough skills in blender or fusion 360 then the assets could be made with higher quality @Strikefighter04
The next subs I want to try and build are the Red October and an India class @Mustang51
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. A Stanley Kubrick black comedy about an insane general who scrambled his Air wing of B-52s, the crew of one of these bombers, and the us president and other generals trying to stop the bombers. It has some great lines, such as “Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!”

Simplecheats is a useful source for xml editing
Thanks @randomusername @FastDan @spefyjerbf for the upvote
I should probably update the descriptions to make it more generic @N124Hawk
Krakabloa, and Snowstone. both are north of Wright Isles. snowstone has missiles
I think this is more of a B.5 Upwards rather than a B.1, as the b.1 has the dome canopy, and the mk.5 was the first variant with the offset fighter canopy
you could try using the smooth(x, rate) function, but replacing rate with Throttle, such as smooth(Time*10, Throttle)
@jamesPLANESii @Stormfur wayback machine maybe?
@Minecraftpoweer it shows only the most recently highlighted builds, for example i have more highlighted builds than are visible, the oldest one just gets pushed out of the visible range.
@SnoWFLakE0s The Lead Angle calculation method is correct, as i have done almost exactly the same thing, although in the context of intercepting a ship with another ship. The Target Velocity calculation looks like it works, although only if the ship is travelling parallel to the target. It may be possible to add a "Delta-Range" function to determine the perpendicular factor as well, although i understand that it may complicate input, operation and programming.
Apart from that, however, the system looks as though it will work effectively as it stands currently.
@randomusername @jamesPLANESii I think the top speed differences are due to the differing reduction rates of the forces, the engines reducing thrust slower than the drag reduces. As the propulsion is drag-based, the rates of reduction for thrust and drag would be identical, leading to this issue. To solve it, the engine drag has to reduce slower than the airframe drag, although i don't know how that would be done.
Thanks @ThomasRoderick @xXRaindropXx @Ctrlshift for the upvotes!
@JaySto Is AG8 active when you try and lift the aircraft?
Thanks for the upvotes @randomusername @AWESOMENESS360 @Florida0man !
Thanks @Nobodygood for the upvote!
Thanks for the upvote and spotlight @Tang0five
Thanks for the upvotes @jetnyan @TheFantasticTyphoon @yoshicraze
@TrislandianAlliance @Strikefighter04 sorry, 317 quadrillion years, 24.3x the age of the universe
@OrangeBoardEnterprise I’m fairly certain @TheFantasticTyphoon is referring to Operation Black Buck with the victors, and possibly to either the B-2 Spirit bombings of Kosovo or Operation Chrome Dome with the KC-135s
There is a section which is RotorPerfScalars @Falkenwut
@AWESOMENESS360 The new USS Beast isn't much larger in deck size, and it is lower in height, with the deck at around 40ft instead of the 80ft of the old version. @BMilan's USS Beast (1:1 Scale Replica) can be used to compare the two
I think it may be an issue unrelated to the beta, as multiple users, myself included, are unable to download or upload builds on Mac. I am using SP 1.7, and although I did change to the beta twice I was able to download builds until a few days ago, which was around when the website had a certificate issue, which may or may not be the problem @Minecraftpoweer
You can find the post under https://www.simpleplanes.com/Blog @Rub3n213
@NathanMikeska also I think part explosions may be broken as I ran an aircraft's wing into a bridge and it sheared off. following that, the aircraft ran into the ground and disintegrated, without explosions. This was done with mods enabled, as it was after I had re-enabled them.
On MacOS the frame rate has taken a hit, as the same 125-part aircraft has gone from running at around 30fps to around 7fps. Mods, graphics settings, and AI traffic are the same with both
@randomusername “Sikorsky stopped rotor”
@AWESOMENESS360 it is the Sikorsky S-72 RSRA X-Wing Stopped rotor testbed
It’s a Sikorsky slowed rotor design
I’ve got a (not as old) Minolta X-700 with a less than brilliant shutter
I would assume that, if it’s your creation, you can do whatever with it, but if it’s someone else’s then you would need permission @s5ehfr9
What do the Devs say @AndrewGarrison
One hot tip, depending on the window arrangement, is to remove the shortcut of F12 showing the dashboard
