B-17 Piccadilly Lilly II

73.0k WahrscheinlichIch  4.2 years ago

A replica of the US Bomber B-17 flying fortress, more specifically the B-17 42-37800 that was named "Piccadilly Lilly II", a machine with great history and many successes in missions until it was destroyed beyond repair in a crash.

AG1 openes the bomb bay
AG2-5 are one turret control each (from front to back, the one on top must be turned to central position before sweeping from side to side, or you will mess up the built in mechanism to prevent shooting the plane)
AG6 for the remaining defensive MGs

Bomber vision included, recommended altitude 5500 ft

The B-17 was requested by 808REKT

    there's a battleship that's really interesting - the H-44. I recommend checking it out.

@temporaryaccount dunno. I build when I want to and what I feel like ^^
I've got nothing in progress right now. Also I am very stressed with school currently.

    @WahrscheinlichIch me too...
racer planes are the only things that are good for me...
    anyways, what's next?

@Rodrigo110 @temporaryaccount please keep peace! It is not like temoraryaccount was wrong or insulting. It is only that I wasn't going for perfect realism, I just wanted to build a quick B-17 to test my fond Idea on. I can't build perfect planes because I am too bad at it anyways.

@Rodrigo110 yes, I agree. however, you should understand that I am making a suggestion for a change, or redo. I'm not criticizing it in anyway, but I think it's important to change it so that's it's accurate. That's all.

I suggest you stop complaining about small details unless you could do any better (which you definitely can’t) and simply appreciate this great creation! @temporaryaccount

@WahrscheinlichIch ok, you don't want to do it, and there's no need to talk like that. I suggest we end this conversation here.

@temporaryaccount they are small compared to the work I had with the writing and also I don't give a sh*t.

@WahrscheinlichIch the wings are not a small detail. They're dead wrong!

@temporaryaccount I've seen the successors. I do not remake things for such small details though. I'd rather build new things ^^

@WahrscheinlichIch check succesors. Well, i don't mean rebuilding the entire font, maybe you can add a few kill tallies (which takes about an hour)
If you are wondering about the wings, here's the blueprints
Your wing roots are thinner than in the blueprint. See it for yourself.
    ok?

@temporaryaccount don't know about the wings. white camo paint - yes it did but it is very hard to replicate when using custom control surfaces. Lettering on the other side - have fun the next five hours completely rebuilding this cursive fond (there is a reason why I didn't bother with it after finishing one side).

    redo? NO.

@WahrscheinlichIch The wings are a bit out of scale (longer) isn't it? The real one had a white camo paint under the belly, and what about the lettering on the other side?
I suggest a redo of this, if you can.

@Bobplanes322 Ok, I checked yours out also and posted a comment and an UPVOTE. It's nice, and the select-able engines is a nice touch.
