controls:

AG-1 engine
VTOL UP-flaps

The AN-2 airplane, a firstling of the O.K. Antonov Design Bureau, got off the ground on August 31, 1947. The first flight was made by test pilot Pavel Volodin. Owing to high flight performance, structural reliability and wide transport capabilities, the AN-2 airplane has become an indispensable worker on regional airlines and in agriculture. The wing with powerful high-lift devices and landing gear with low-pressure tires enable to operate the airplane at small unpaved fields. The landing gear wheels can be replaced with skis or floats if necessary. From 1948 to 1963 the AN-2 airplane was serially manufactured at Kyiv Aviation Plant; 3,320 airplanes were manufactured.

@LimesLusania there are no planes without troubles. Plus, its the heaviest one-prop plane. And biggest biplane. And was designed exactly after WW2. Tho, An-2 had wonderful system of slats. So, hard to say it was totally bad or totally good. I guess more good nor bad. After all, planes kinda Tu-134 or Helldiver (just examples, i dont care abt exact type of airship) had much more troubles

@DrLuckyman I agree with you, but in addition to fuel problems, there are also problems with ailerons and flaps, which caused many crashes

@Dathcha because its really great machine. It is simple and universal. It can land on any terrain. Only one thing - it eats much fuel. But still, fine plane
