to lean mixture (do this @ cruise altitudes) slowly pull the mixture back until the engine starts to run rough, then inch it slightly forward until it smooths out

is possible to ice over pitot tube resulting in a frozen or zeroed airspeed indicator, should clear in ~15 or less seconds when pitot heat is on

prop pitch angle can be adjusted on the ground w/ engine off

lower pitch number has higher acceleration & climb rate but lower top speed & opposite is true for the higher pitch number
