CT-26 Hydra VTOL
Thanks for 2k downloads!
A very fun to fly VTOL heavy fighter/cargo aircraft. Includes tilt-rotor capabilities for heli-mode and a heavy turret for ground-pounding.
Aircraft is quite hard to handle and will require some practicing to coordinate all the activation groups and control sensitivities.
Some instructions (RECOMMENDED TO READ):
- Aircraft handles normally upon startup, though due to centre-of-mass placement to accommodate VTOL capabilities, the aircraft will tilt down while cruising. Use trim to stabilise.
- Around 60-65% throttle for hovering.
- AG1 will rotate the engines perpendicular to the aircraft. It will also fold in majority of the wing.
- AG2 will stabilise the rotors to be either Parallel or Perpendicular to the horizon (when aircraft is at 0* roll), depending on whether AG1 is active or not. This feature is not all that useful, but is cool to watch :).
- AG3 will activate the VTOL controls. These enable the aircraft to be controlled at very low speeds. The characteristics are similar to that of the Helicopter part in that they are quite sensitive and require some skill, but to not have the pitch and roll limitations of a gyro.
- AG4 will activate the gyro stabiliser and stabilise the aircraft to a stable plane. Yaw is still available in this state.
- Combine AG3 and AG4 to create very small, precise movements. Useful for landing in VTOL mode.
- AG8 will toggle the control surfaces. Be warned that if the control surfaces are disabled while pitching up, for example, the pitch will be locked in place.
- AG5 will extend and activate the main turret. As the turret is controlled with Pitch and Roll (designed for use with mouse-control), it is highly advised to disable AG3 and AG8, and enable AG4 while shooting.
Controls:
[AG-1: Toggle VTOL]
[AG-2: Tilt-rotor Stabilisers]
[AG-3: Toggle VTOL Pitch-Roll-Yaw Controls]
[AG-4: Toggle Stabiliser]
[AG-5: Extend and Activate Turret]
[AG-8: Toggle Control Surfaces]
[Trim: Trim]
[Camera-1: Turret View]
Here's a little demonstration video.
Have fun!

Bro I'm surprised no one is talking abt the cannons in the comments
Interesting design....
Extremely unique design out there oh I like your secret weapon hidden within the beast
Oh neat! @CheeseTruffles
Thanks :)
If you’re asking about the tilting of the rotors, I simply added a damperMultiplier to the rotators @TTHHSSSS
One of the best vtols on the site in terms of controllability. How did you get the rotators to move so smoothly and have some sort of acceleration to their movement?
Super awesome concept for a vtol. I especially love the folding wings!
