Year designed (RP): 1994
Entered service: 1998
After failing to complete the design for the XM-14 Valkyrie MBT, the FalCOM Ballistics Department of Vehicle Design and Testing (DoVDT) decided to make an entirely new design. The result was the M16 Valkyrie II. After further revision and testing, the DoVDT came to the M16A2 Valkyrie II. The Valkyrie II was put on the battlefield, and it wasn't until after some conflict was faced that crews complained about the enemy easily flanking and penetrating the 150-250mm of side armor. The DoVDT spent a year researching and testing to make a new kind of add-on armor, one that would be suitable for almost anything it faced. Rolling off the factory floor came VIHAT, or Valkyrie Improved Hardened Armor Tiles. Sparing no expense with this new lightweight, super hard armor, it was placed generously on the sides and front of the hull, and on the sides of the turret. After being put into service as the M16A2 VIHAT, crews became skeptical of the still-barren turret face and gun mantle. This was only a short-lived feeling, however, once a demonstration proved the effectiveness of the 441-800mm armor on the turret.
AG-1 + Ground Weapon Selection: Activate the M160A4 cannon and turret, Yaw for traverse (Elevation is automatically calculated and controlled), FireWeapons button to fire
AG-2 + Ground Weapon Selection: Activate the topside FB-100A .50 heavy machine gun, Yaw+Trim for traverse/elevation, FireWeapons button to fire
AG-3 + Ground Weapon Selection: Activate all hard-kill APS systems, FireGuns to fire (CAUTION: MAY CAUSE LAG)
AG-5: Activate Hull Leaning, Trim to adjust
AG-6: Activate M19 Smoke Grenade Launchers
AG-7: Open hatches, open side skirts for tread maintenance
AG-8: Deactivate suspension and two-plane stabilizer
A 125mm cannon designed to fire the same shell types as the US M1A2 Abrams (M829A4 APFSDS and M830A1 HEAT-MP-T). Reload rate is dependant on the skill and speed of the loader, ranging from 7 seconds to 4. Traversed horizontally by use of the Yaw function, elevation is automatic thanks to one of the Funky Trees enhanced rotators holding up the gun.
Traverse range: +/- 180°
Elevation range: +40°/-10°
Stabilizer range, vertical: +/- 10°
Stabilizer range, horizontal: +/- 180°
M19 Smoke Grenade Launcher
Grouped in sets of 12 on either side of the hull, these smoke grenades will not only provide some cover for your vehicle, but will also confuse and interfere with the systems of incoming ATGMs and other guided projectiles.
Activation: AG-6 + Ground weapon selection
Charge count: 16 charges (Launches 24 grenades at a time)
Borrowed from the MT-2AeX by Tankistrus37. Uses several dispensers (Yes, they're machine guns, play along) to destroy incoming self-propelled projectiles.
Activation: AG-3 + Ground Weapon Selection
A sturdy and semi-spacious containment area for supplies, each VIHAT modification comes with a spare FB-100A and a two-piece bogie wheel for replacement.
The VIHAT Valkyrie II sports a stabilized gunsight with an insane level of magnification.
Activation: AG-1, Throttle to zoom
This isn't a tank feature, it's a SimplePlanes experience improvement. It's a fuel block with 3 jet engines and 2 inlets attached to it to imitate the sound of a Honeywell AGT1500 turbine engine. Hull traverse, movement, and idle have their own sounds.

Thank you to the wonderful folks in the SimplePlanes Skipper's Chat for providing feedback, and thank you to those who endured the then-927 part tank rolling around in SimplePlanes Multiplayer.
