Mechanized Howitzer

When fired from the Wright Airport spawn location, this howitzer will destroy the East bridge on Krakabloa. Instead of simulating recoil using pistons, this build uses the actual recoil of the cannon part for the recoil action. This looks (and sounds) much better than the piston version, but imposes some limitations. These limitations are the reason why its aim is fixed.

Due to the way the recoil system works, only the first shot after spawning is guaranteed to hit the bridge. Subsequent shots may miss at times.

@Tex338 Use the X-ray feature, you'll see that the shock absorber is inside the barrel.

@Panzer828 A proper Flak cannon with gear-based elevation and traversal mechanisms is coming soon...

Really menacing looking machine! Love the texture on the outriggers from the air brakes and the recoil looks great, thanks to that tiny shock absorber! Great fun and really clever as always.

@Panzer828 Not quite a Flak 88, but you might be interested anyway.

@ChisP I guess the recuperator cylinder being on top of the barrel makes them look similar. I wonder if the design of the M1 was influenced by the Flak 88.

@unCANNY I appreciate that you're trying to help, but I've been playing this game for nearly three years and have over 450 published builds. Do you really think I haven't tried those tricks, and a whole lot besides? :)

If you reduce the mass of the recoil system to zero or close to it, what happens to the acceleration of the moving parts? How does that affect the compression of the shock absorber spring and the time period of the recoil?

@SledDriver What I do is make the moving bits like the recoil system weigh nothing. This way it's much easier to manipulate the parts using rotators and damperMultiplier.
