Looks great! I've been waiting for this ever since I found out about this being the competition to the MD YC-15 in the Tactical transport (AMST) competition started in 1972. Two of each of the YC-14 & YC-15 were built and both were very successful meeting the STOL targets, but then the program was cancelled in 1979 after the US Air Force decided it really wanted larger strategic transports, which resulted in the excellent C-17.
The concept and engineering was brilliant and was soon copied by the Russians. There is an amazing video of this plane taking off in a very short distance, flying a tight circle, and landing again in an even shorter distance of apparently a couple hundred feet. A C-17 takes dozens times more distance to take off. It first flew in 1976. It could carry 134,000 lb (60,400 kg) of cargo, and could take off and land in half the runway length of a C-130 with a 27k lb (12,000 kg) load.
spotlighted! great work
