Horten Ho-229 "Propaganda"

by   47.2k ChaMikey  2.1 years ago

Finally! one of MANY projects i have been silently building in my cave, the horten Ho-229 with a slight touch of facism (NOTE : This does not in anyway propagate Nazism, only for an additional immersion) Very special thanks to @Seeras for helping me make this thing Fly well, a Repaint will be out later on!

======INSTRUCTIONS======

-Vtol up and down for the landing gears

-Landing is very hard, like... VERY. hard. so try to drop speed about 150mph and keep the nose up.

hope you guys enjoy!

Information :

The Horten H.IX, RLM designation Ho 229 (or Gotha Go 229 for extensive re-design work done by Gotha to prepare the aircraft for mass production) was a German prototype fighter/bomber initially designed by Reimar and Walter Horten to be built by Gothaer Waggonfabrik late in World War II. It was the first flying wing to be powered by jet engines.[1]

The design was a response to Hermann Göring's call for light bomber designs capable of meeting the "3×1000" requirement; namely to carry 1,000 kilograms (2,200 lb) of bombs a distance of 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) with a speed of 1,000 kilometres per hour (620 mph). Only jets could provide the speed, but these were extremely fuel-hungry, so considerable effort had to be made to meet the range requirement. Based on a flying wing, the Ho 229 lacked all extraneous control surfaces to lower drag. It was the only design to come even close to the 3×1000 requirements and received Göring's approval. Its ceiling was 15,000 metres (49,000 ft).

    My only problem with landing is the tendency for the front gear to drift and make the craft spin-out, otherwise an absolutely beautiful plane!

    I saw your aircraft and I noticed it had the inlets below the wings and decided to download it and put the inlets behind those black circles in the front. Just letting you know I am resubmitting it but still giving full credit to you.

    That plane is not so hard to land. The wheel is just to bouncy. By the way, i landed with one wing first try

    The swastika is actually a Hindu symbol. It symbolizes hope. Hitler just misinterpreted it. So technically the swastika is the opposite of what Hitler did.

    This thing sucks at landing but a beast to fly

    @ChaMikey There is less air pressure at higher altitudes, therefore less drag.

    I'm looking for a plane to outfit for dive bombing the carrier fleet. This one would be perfect except that it slows down climbing away from missiles and AA fire XD

    simple planes physics lol, you fly faster at higher altitudes for some reason. I still don't understand simple planes physics fully :p @Tahyang

    This thing is awesome. How is it that it gains speed climbing, and loses speed diving?
