rearm & refuel + loadouts

98.2k BaconEggs  7 months ago

an idea i had this morning was copying the rearm & refuel menu from dcs over to sp

example: 4 phoenix + 4 heaters + 2 bags

how it would work

a preset aircraft (clean, full fuel, full gun/cannon ammo, full cm) is input alongside the save file of the build.

a new option is added to hardpoint parts: stores type (disabled/ext fuel tank/a-a missile/a-g bombs/a-g other/pods/all), and the ability to combine specific types. other specific settings to the part would be max weight & max sustained g load

a new save category is introduced: stores
this category works the exact same as sub-assemblies, and has preset and custom sub-categories you can set (which would have to be added to the stores type in hardpoints)

the menu
the rearm & refuel menu would be accessible only when stationary and parked on the aprons of the airfields,

another property that can be customized is availability of specific stores

ex. R-27 & R-73 missiles can be loaded at bandit only, and AIM-120B/C & AIM-9L/M/X can load at wright/yeager/snowstone, though not bandit

example images from dcs:

full fuel & gun load, 60x60 cm:

loading fuel tank center station:

loading amraam on a-a missile/pod station

final loadout, 1x center bag 330 gal, 2x aim-120c, 2x aim-9m

this would make for more interesting use of airfields to load up, refuel, swap stores, especially for long flights in mp

Well yes but actually no. I don’t really mind for the whole rearm/refuel thing, I think we mainly need a simple way to just combine all the parts to a group. @BaconEggs

Firstly we’d need to be able to group parts together! So we can much more easily attach our weapons to whatever we want. Instead of clicking through every part of the weapon to make sure it doesn’t make unreasonable connections to something on the other side of the f$%king plane.

They'd have to add more realistic weapons though and you'd have to input what kind of plane you're using
