Remember when we told you we were done with updates for SimplePlanes, indefinitely? Well, we were wrong! We had a few small features and several bug fixes that have accumulated in our repo so we decided to finish them up and push out a final update before sailing away to the next project(s). This will be our last update for SimplePlanes, unless we have any critical issues that pop up, but hey that doesn't mean the story ends here...
You might ask "is the next major project SimplePlanes 2?" Great question! That's a very strong contender, but there are other project ideas that we are very excited about as well. Part of the team has been focusing on research and development and rest assured that once we have something more substantial to share you can expect more frequent updates from us.

- Added 3 new lever variants
Game Engine / Package Updates
- Updated the game engine to Unity 2022.3.9
- Updated the input system
- Updated some VR related packages
- Several other libraries/packages updated
Tweaks
- Added dev console command: "ClearPlayerPrefsImmediately", which will wipe all SimplePlanes "PlayerPrefs", which primarily contain input mapping settings, as well as some game settings which are not saved in the normal Settings.xml file. This may be useful in cases where a game reinstall has not solved a problem, primarily ones which are related to joysticks/gamepads.
- Removed some unnecessary debug logs.
- Increased VR joystick deadzone for Throttle input to reduce accidental throttle adjustment during yaw.
- Added variable deadzone to VR joystick Throttle input, which adjusts according to Yaw to prevent accidental Throttle adjustment.
- Added Restore Default button to VR Settings Menu.
- Increased default target framerate to 60

There is a known issue where the game crashes on Android on startup. Unfortunately, this is a bug with Unity so we will need to wait until they can fix the issue. Fortunately they are aware of the issue.

ANOTHER UPDATE💀
@StaleCrackers Your device should be compatible. Can you email your log file to us at games@jundroo.com? Hopefully that will shed some light on what is happening. You can find it using the Files app here:
On My iPhone -> SimplePlanes -> Player.log
@Dracul0Anderson Funky Trees should not be affected by this update and should still work as it did.
@AndrewGarrison
What exactly does "updated the input system & mean? Will pre-update funky trees codes no longer work?
@AndrewGarrison I have an IPad Mini 2. I’ve restarted my IPad multiple times and nothing has changed And Its updated to the latest IOS version.
@StaleCrackers Try restarting your device and see if that fixes the issue. What kind of iPad do you have? Does your iPad have the latest iOS installed?
@AndrewGarrison
Motorola E7, Android 10
It appeared again, so no screenshot (strange?)
The bug was simply no weapons part section.
Can’t open the game on IPad. Crashes 2 seconds after entering
bug
In the mobile version the helicopter rotor spin awkwardly, slow, and distorted compared to the last version, you should make it spin faster just like a real helicopter blade rotors. Tested this on various helicopter build.
Tested on Samsung A53 and Iphone 12
@Dragoranos Can you post a screenshot? What kind of device do you have?
bug
@AndrewGarrison Appears to be fixed. Thanks!
BUT theres another problem...
The weapons part section is gone....
bug it wont let me play the game without me exiting the game and re entering.
@AndrewGarrison Thank you, Your Highness
@Ruskiwaffle1991 This should be fixed in v1.12.103. Check your app store for the update.
Bug
@AndrewGarrison Not Really A Bug, More So A Suggestion But, can you guys add delay when spawning in mobile friendly ai aircraft? More specifically, aggressive enemy aircrafts? Maybe an option for how long the delay will be, it will be better if the aggressive ai's don't attack each other.
bug Replacing parts through XML Overload deletes parts instead, also makes clicking the play button not do anything.
@SiBangsatYa They don't even know if they're making it yet, let alone have a build of the game that could incorporate that feature. Give Jundroo time.
Thank you for supporting this game for so long. You turned SimplePlanes from a simple construction game into modelling software lite, and gave us dozens of bits and bobs to play with. I've been around since before weapons were introduced, and to say I've gotten several times my money's worth would be an understatement. I'm super excited to see what game you make next, and really hope it's a follow up to SP!
It there any possibility that my suggestion for new stuff will be added(I don't normally do this, but since this is the last update, I realized that this also the last chance I have to ask for new features/parts)?
@Dragoranos This is fixed in v1.12.103, which is rolling out to mobile today. Once you get the update, please let me know if it is working for you when you get the update.
Bug
When changing
partType
in the overload menu, the part being edited vanishes. Other users reported the part vanishes when editing other things (likescale
)Demo video
@winterro I agree that is irritating that it spews that message, but unfortunately that is coming from the Unity engine so there's nothing we can do to stop it. Believe me, I wish there was!
@TheCommentaryGuy What version of the Android OS are you using? After ensuring SimplePlanes has permission to access photos, also try restarting your device and see if that fixes the issue. If not, can you email your log file to us at games@jundroo.com? You will need to connect it to a PC and use Windows Explorer to find it here (or somewhere similar):
