The Badge of Honor of the Navy is a badge, established on August 10, 1939 by the USSR Council of People's Commissars Decree No. 1186. The award was conferred on the Red Navy Navy of the USSR for excellent military and political training, excellent service and exemplary discipline. The award was made on the recommendation of the Military Councils of the fleets commanding the flotillas by the order of the NK of the USSR, especially distinguished in combat and political training of the Red Navy, commanders, commanders and civilian ships, units and institutions of the Navy. The sign is a figured plate framed to the left by the image of laurel leaves and to the right of the anchor chain. Above it was an image of a fluttering naval flag, beneath it - a cutting wave of a battleship.

Знаком награждали краснофлотцев Военно-Морского Флота СССР за отличную боевую и политическую подготовку, отличное несение службы и примерную дисциплину. Награждение производилось по представлению Военсоветов флотов, командующих флотилиями приказом НК ВМФ СССР особо отличившихся в боевой и политической подготовке краснофлотцев, командиров, начальников и вольнонаёмных кораблей, частей и учреждений ВМФ. Знак представляет собой фигурную пластину, обрамленную слева изображением лавровых листьев и справа — якорной цепи. Сверху помещалось изображение развевающегося военно-морского флага, под ним — разрезающего волны линкора.
