BRIEF HISTORY

USS Iowa is a retired battleship and lead ship of her class, she becomes the last lead ship of any class in United States. During WW2, she carried President Franklin D. Roosevelt across Atlantic Sea to Mers El Kébir, en route to a conference of vital importance in 1943 in Tehran, shelled beachheads at Kwajelein and Eniwetok after transferred into Pacific Fleet. Iowa also involved in Korean War, shelling on North Korean coast and later decomissioned and reactivated in 1984 as part of 600-ship Navy plan, and decomissioned again in 1990, later permanently moved to Los Angeles as museum ship opened in 2012.
