It took 1.6 years to go from uploading the unlisted version to posting it with the description... umm...

I can explain...?

Also yeah sorry people who commented "T" on the forums, you're getting pinged now

Aaand upvotes aren't working

And 24 hours later embedded screenshots aren't working

Jundroo what have you done to this site?

Collaboration build by MrVaultech and Typhoon

The VHFS-10A Voulge is the culmination of the Saltwater Marine Corps' "Next-Generation Fire Support" program, a large self-propelled gun capable of support itself for long periods of time whilst firing guided artillery shells at extended ranges, serving to support Saltwater land forces as well as striking both tactical and strategic targets deep behind enemy lines.
Produced by Typhoon and MrVaultech.

Controls

AG1+VTOL+TRIM rotates the turret.
AG2+VTOL operates the Brimstone missile launcher.
AG3 activates the additional countermeasures.
AG4+YAW operates the amphibious steering.
AG7+TRIM+VTOL rotates the RCWS.
PITCH+ROLL for movement.

Overview

The Voulge was designed to take advantage of the 203mm Lightweight Stand-off Naval Gun System developed for the Minerva-class frigate, capable of firing rocket-assisted gliding subcalibre munitions out to 300km. The large turret houses four crew members - a gunner, commander, and two loaders - whilst the driver is seated in the forward section of the hull. The turret features a large bustle housing sixty shells, as well as two 15mm remote control weapons stations for defence against soft targets.

The vehicle has relatively strong protection for its class, standing at 40mm of resistance frontally and 12.7mm all-round. This allows the Voulge to operate as a direct-fire support vehicle as a secondary role, using its 203mm main gun to support dismounted infantry, transporting supplies in its large passenger compartment and even bringing infantry into combat.
This comes at the cost of weight, with the large sizd and heavy armour pushing the vehicle to nearly 70 tons at combat weight. However, with a 1,300hp engine the Voulge is still able to attain speeds of up to 40 mph.

Development

The VHFS-10A Voulge began with the "Next Generation Fire Support" program, which had originally been envisioned as a heavy infantry fighting vehicle but later turned its focus to the development of a new self-propelled gun system that took advantage of the new Lightweight Stand-off Naval Gun System developed for the Minerva-class frigate, with a 300km effective range. The first prototype rolled out of the factory after three years of design work, with the first production models appearing a year later.

The Voulge encountered some issues during its testing phase, including leakage and an excessive draft during amphibious trials, as well as steering and suspension problems. Nonetheless, the vehicle proved extremely capable, with all major issues resolved by the time the first production vehicle was delivered. The first Voulges undertook a nearly unsupported crossing of Canada, relying only on what their support vehicles, the VHFS-10B supply and engineering variant that features a heavy-duty crane rather than a turret and enlarged ammunition and supply storage capacity, could carry. This exercise proved the outstanding range and endurance of a Voulge formation, and its ability to perform operations outside the regular logistics chain.

Turret

The turret of the VHFS-10A is very large, housing four crew members, including the commander, gunner and two loaders. The 203mm gun features extensive dampening to absorb the immense recoil, and is capable of elevating to around 75 degrees, necessitating the installation of hatches in the turret roof to allow the gun to elevate so far. The turret face is heavily protected by ceramic composite armour and ERA, providing protection against strikes by cannons up to 40mm in calibre. The turret bustle houses up to sixty ready shells during combat, with additional shells able to be stored below in the hull, although these are outside the reach of the autoloader. The rear of the bustle has a hatch through which ammunition can be fed by resupply vehicles, even whilst the gun is in the fire position. In order to protect the vehicle from ATGMs and RPGs should it come into direct contact with an enemy force, AMAP-ADS hard-kill APS is installed, as well as radio jammers and countermeasures dispensers, including smoke grenades.

The turret roof carries two 15mm RCWS for use against soft-targets, as well as various optical and thermal sights for the gunner and commander. Concealed in a pop-up launcher are four Brimstone anti-tank guided missiles, with a range of 20km against land targets, allowing the Voulge to provide support to friendly forces without the use of its main gun whilst remaining beyond line of sight. Each missile is capable of hitting a moving target at a range of twenty kilometres thanks to its millimetre wave radar seeker, and can penetrate through reactive armour due to the tandem charge warhead.

Below the turret within the hull up to forty additional shells are able to be stored around the turret ring, although these racks are usually filled with dry stores during combat lest the ammunition compartment be penetrated and kill the crew. In the VHFS-10B supply vehicle, the turret is replaced with a crane to hoist ammunition and stores into hatches set in the rear of the hull and back side of the turret, allowing a Voulge Fire Team to rapidly rearm itself during intensive combat.

Engine Compartment

The engine compartment is situated in the front of the vehicle on the left-side. It houses a 1,300 horsepower diesel engine. At standard weight this gives the Voulge a power-to-weight ratio of 20 hp per ton, propelling the vehicle to a maximum speed of 40 mph. The compartment is protected on all sides by Kevlar splinter protection. All internal fuel tanks are coated in self-sealing rubber to prevent leakage after combat damage.

This arrangement gives the Voulge commonality with the ST-110 Albacore main battle tank, reducing maintenance costs for both vehicles and taking pressure off the logistics chain.

Crew Compartments

Outside the turret, the driver is seated well forward in the hull, in front of the fighting compartment. Aft of the fighting compartment, up to ten passengers may be seated in two compartments, which can also be used to carry supplies. In any one unit of eight VHFS-10As and two VHFS-10Bs, two VHFS-10As carry ten infantrymen each, two carry six infantrymen plus supplies, two carry six engineering personnel plus spare parts, and two carry six engineering personnel plus supplies, with the two support vehicles carrying ammunition, stores and spares.

As with the engine compartment, the entire crew areas are lined with Kevlar splinter protection. Per the standards of the Saltwater Marine Corps, the compartments also contain rations, water and equipment to be self-sufficient for up to ten days. Both the gunner and the commander in the turret can operate the main armament and machine guns.
All crew positions in the vehicle are equipped with multipurpose digital displays as well as their analogue back-ups.

Defensive Equipment

Various pieces of equipment were added to to the exterior of the vehicle to assist the passive defensive equipment inside the vehicle.
For defence against ATGMs, RPGs and certain anti-tank shells, the AMAP-ADS hard-kill active protection system can strike targets at ranges of up to 200 metres.
Soft-kill systems are also fitted. These include a radar jamming system, smoke grenades, chaff dispensers and IR flares. These systems are operated by the commander in the turret, but the gunner can also operate them.

Versatility & Usage

The VHFS-10A Voulge has proven extremely adaptable. As well as providing extremely long-range deep-fires capability to Expeditionary Corps, the vehicle is also capable of serving as an "ultra-heavy infantry fighting vehicle", carrying troops to the frontlines, including from amphibious assault ships, and providing direct fire support, although in this role it is vulnerable to enemy direct fire, due to its relatively thin armour and poor maneuverability.
As a fire support weapon, the Voulge is nearly unmatched, striking enemy support elements deep behind the frontline with an overwhelming volume of fire, unmatched by even the MABEL system firing the 300km-class HSMM cruise missile. Firing both land-attack and anti-ship shells, the vehicle has largely superseded MABEL as both a fire support and coastal defence weapon.
