BB Richelieu - 1936
Richelieu class were battleships built for the French Navy between 1930's to 1950's, in response of Italian Littorio class, Richelieu, based on preceding Dunkerque class, scaled up and new main cannons, compact hull, new boilers, etc. France planned to build 4 ship, only 2 was completed before the outbreak of WW2. During WW2, Richelieu sails to Dakar, then attacked by Royal Navy, Richelieu was taken to US, repairing and refit it with more armaments, Richelieu saw active service in British Home Fleet, then French Indochina, took an initial campaign to retake French Indochina, return to France, and taking part in Suez Crisis, being reserved, and the sold to ship breakers.
