KYV Kolomyia is the lead ship of the Kolomyia-class of super-dreadnought battleships for the Grand Pivdenia Navy in the 1850s. The Kolomyia-class is part of the linkor standartnoho typu of sixteen battleships built in the 1850s and 1860s, and were developments of the preceding Dunaivtsi-class. They were armed with a battery of twelve 14-inch (356 mm) guns in four three-gun turrets. Kolomyia spent most of her career in the Expeditionary Fleet for the duration of her peacetime career. She is also present in the Operation Southern Expedition which she, after the operation, was awarded the Order of the Grand Eagle.

Kolomyia was moored in Aurora Harbor when the Pivdenian Revolution broke out in 1871. She participated in the Battle of of Aleut·s'kyy Islands where she was pinned down by three dreadnought battleships seized by the Pivdenia Commune 3 weeks earlier. She nevertheless survived the battle and was repaired. Her repairs took five months preventing her from participating in two major naval engagements but manage to participate in other battles. In 1873, Kolomyia and many of the older battleships were thoroughly rebuilt to prepare them for operations in the Southern Seas War. She took part in Hubkina, providing gunfire support to troops fighting to retake the islands. Belgorod followed from 1873 to 1874, including the Battles of Velyka Planyna, Portorozh and Kamnik Islands. In March, she raided Kirovsk to distract the Commune forces during the landing on Komi, and from June through September, she fought in Pskov and Lipetsk, bombarding Commune forces during the Battles of Yaroslav, Poltava, Samara and Cherkasy.

The Rosiya campaign followed in September, during which the ship operated as part of the bombardment group at the Battle of Arkhangelsk. The Commune launched a major counter naval attack that resulted in the Battle of Arkhangelsk Gulf, a series of four naval engagements. During the Battle of Sevastopol Strait, Kolomyia formed part of the Grand Navy's line of battle that defeated the Commune Squadron. During the battle, Kolomyia was credited by sinking her sister Ternivka. Kolomyia shelled Commune forces during the Battle of Rosiya in February 1875 and the Battle of Moskva from March to June. During the latter action, she was frequently attacked by Airships but was not seriously damaged. She used the Anti-airship rockets installed on her against the Airships but proved very inaccurate. In the final months of the war, Kolomyia is present in bombarding the Commune capital of Moskva and after Commune's surrender in April, she was present in Rosiya Bay at the signing of Treaty of Volhohrad, ending the war effectively. Kolomyia sailed for Grand Duchy of Pivden four days later.

Kolomyia was decommissioned in 1877, and struck from Reyestr viys'kovo-mors'kykh suden in 1878. The ship was planned to be scrapped but outburst from the public led to the argue that the ship made a remarkable performance in uniting the Grand Duchy and preventing the uprising of Communist regime. She was then sold to a private group and is now a museum ship.
