Panokseon

Joseon Korean Warship

Lowest Part Version (No Sails or weapons)

While building my Trireme, Snowflakes suggested I try a Korean rowing warship. When he revealed the crazy anti-ship dart weapons I knew I hade to make this. Inspired by my experience building cars I came up with the idea to make a literal 'suspension system' in order to make it stable in Ocean Mod. After building functioning control arms and adding springs I found it worked perfectly!

Making the Darts work was unexpectedly complicated when I initially tried using control bases to let them be clicked and dragged. That turned out to be a bad idea for 3 main reasons. For starters the connections were quite floppy, and secondly click-dragging didn't prove practical for gun elevation, hence switching to Throttle. Thirdly, I was left frustrated seeing the darts phase through craft despite having collisions. This was due to my then lack of knowledge that all things connected to Control Bases have collisions turned off by default. While the last thing can be fixed with adjustments, I ultimately found good old fashioned rotators to work best.

Using the winches for Sails was an interesting idea, I might work with sails again in the future. For now though I got an interest in a build that runs on land, and it's not a car, at least not quite.

Controls

  • Pitch for Rowing, forward for forward rowing and backward for backward rowing
  • Roll for Differential Rowing to steer, a little janky though so I might not recommend using it
  • Yaw for Rudder steering
  • VTOL to Adjust sails
  • Throttle to Adjust gun elevation, they start fully raised.
  • Simply select weapons and use FireWeapons, every Dart fired opens up a cannon to be used.

Features:

Ocean Mod Stability

Buoyancy mounted on a suspension arm system for full stability in ocean mod. In a few seconds it will completely stabilize after spawn drop.

Cheonja-Chongtong Cannons

Cannons equipped with shells and Daejanggunjeon darts. Highly effective against equivalently sized ships.

Winch-Adjustable Sails

Don't know how accurate they are, but they work! Use VTOL to adjust the angle of the sails to catch the wind better.

U see, when u put the word 'Korean' before anything, people easily get attracted to it.
    U know why.
Btw I did like the model, but didn't get attracted much.
PS. Do not start an argument on this.

@BoganBoganTheKid It also happens on Facebook, YouTube or any other platform when you mention Filipino, Germany or India the comments get piled up with people from these countries (for me it's ok bcuz they feel proud)

Classical sailing boats/wooden boats are always particularly ornamental, and I have tried to make some Chinese classical sailing boats like "Keying" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keying_(ship)
But because I know so little about ships, I always give up halfway.
You have done a very interesting and characteristic creation, good work!
