All hope... is lost.

34.8k WarHawk95  2.2 years ago
Today the Russian State TV made a broadcast from the Gostomel airport.
These are pics taken from it.
Now all hopes to find Mriya untouched are lost.

Warning : Extremely graphic content.

Farewell, Mriya.

For God's sake no debate in comments, thanks. Nothing about the war or any side.

Just respect the loss of that aviation icon.
Don't blame anyone, we just know the plane has been destroyed, nothing else.

Ngl a little glue and maybe some tape or something and it can fly. I mean all the damage is just a little bit of squish and a tiny bit of fire, nothing too serious

@50CalChicken it can be only fixed with flex tape

the way I see it, a $300 million dollar plane can be fixed with about $20. Duct tape, zip ties, superglue, and a little bit of epoxy, and you won't even be able to tell that anything happened to it. (single tear runs down cheek)

WHATS THE LARGEST PLANE NOW IN THE WORLD? THE Capsican sea monster is no longer either so cause thats the second plane. I think the new currently largest plane is the AN124

The whole back half seems salvageable.

    2 engines are salvageable
Although it’s still upwards from 400 million to reconstruct…

Why do have to put the word graphic on the An-225 it's just smoke and small bits,

Yet again we can't forget what happened on that day all respected to that behemoth of a plane

    @X99STRIKER nah that’s an understatement
With the second airframe the entire reconstruction, WITH flight inspection would take over 400 million

    This didn’t have to happen.
People are saying it would take approximately 80 million dollars to rebuild/repair it?
Well how much would it take to build a whole other plane like this?
