Lardonia was born in the turbulent year of 1849, amid the chaos of the German Revolution. In the wake of widespread unrest and political fragmentation, a group of determined citizens in Lower Bavaria declared their independence, founding a small but fiercely proud nation. From its earliest days, Lardonia was shaped by discipline, hierarchy, and a drive for order—a society that valued strength, loyalty, and military prowess above all else.
By the early 20th century, Lardonia had grown into a major power, punching far above its weight. Its authoritarian government demanded strict obedience and absolute loyalty from its citizens, who in turn were trained from youth to serve the state. The Lardonian military was renowned for its rigorous discipline, advanced tactics, and cutting-edge technology, making the nation a formidable force on the European stage.
A key symbol of Lardonia’s technological ambition was its aviation sector. Two rival companies dominated the skies:
Wexly Aeronautics, celebrated for its bold, bird-like experimental designs that mimicked the elegance and efficiency of avian flight. These planes were agile, fast, and often revolutionary, giving Lardonia a distinct edge in reconnaissance and air superiority.
Len & Fretts, in contrast, pursued the concept of massive, barrel-shaped aircraft. While ambitious in scope, these planes were notoriously unreliable—prone to mechanical failure and often failing to achieve their intended performance. Despite this, the company’s innovations sometimes yielded unexpectedly durable and heavy-duty bombers, adding a wild-card element to Lardonia’s air power.
During World War I, Lardonian planes struck fear into their enemies, achieving air superiority in numerous theaters and demonstrating that a small nation with innovation and discipline could rival empires.
In 1917, as the war raged across Europe, Lardonia forged a strategic alliance with a neighboring country newly emerged from revolution: the 1st Republic of Avyro, itself born from the upheaval of the Russian Revolution. This alliance brought Lardonia additional manpower, resources, and a strengthened eastern front, further cementing its reputation as a major military power.
However, Lardonia’s fall came unexpectedly. In the wake of Germany’s defeat in World War I, the German government sought to reclaim lost territories and punish independent states. Viewing Lardonia as a former ally that had opposed them during the war, Germany launched a surprise invasion. Lardonia, confident in its alliances and military might, was caught off guard. Within weeks, German forces swept through the country, overwhelming its defenses and annexing it back into Lower Bavaria.
In 1920, Lardonia officially ceased to exist as a sovereign nation. Its authoritarian government, military innovations, and ambitious society were dismantled, but its legacy endured. Aviation historians still recall Wexly’s bird-like aircraft and Len & Fretts’ daring barrel planes, and the nation’s fierce independence lives on in stories of audacity and ambition.
The proud national chant, “glöryאוtöאוgrëatאוlårdoniäאוbëßtאוnåtïon!”, remains a whispered testament to a tiny nation that dared to rise, dominate, and fall under the weight of history.
